In 1995, Musical Fidelity shook the audio world with their X-Series line of components. This series of tube electronics, as with all Musical Fidelity products, offers unmatched price-to-performance value and astonishing build quality at prices any audiophile can afford. Now in its third generation, the new X-CAN v3 offers a huge increase in performance over the older model; higher output, minimized crosstalk, and greatly improved channel balance. The new v3 version is outfitted with a low feedback circuit taken from their Tri-Vista SACD player using 6922 tubes and ALPS volume control which lowers distortion and improves signal-to-noise ratios, resulting in better imaging and detail retrieval. The X-CAN v3 possesses a tremendous sense of speed with added bass extension and dynamic capabilities. Plug any set of headphones into this amazing sounding tube headphone amplifier and get connected to the music in a way you've never before experienced! Call Music Direct for recommendations on which headphones mate best with the X-CAN v3.
From a technical standpoint the X-DACV3 is just about the best DAC available in the world at any price. There are those which offer more facilities, or bigger flashier boxes, but if you want to take the digital output from a 16-bit CD player and get the most possible out of it, there is no better option than the X-DACV3. The X-DACV3 upsamples to 24-bit at 192k. It produces technical performance beyond 16-bit. Its noise ratio is about 120dB down and its linearity and distortion are at the theoretical limits. This is one kicking piece.
The original X-10D sold about 48,500 units. Due to the limited availability of the super-performance milspec milusage mu-vista (6112) tube, we will only be able to make 4,800 of these beauties. The X-10V3 has a high input impedance and a low output impedance. From a technical standpoint, it's almost not there: extremely low noise, very low distortion, wide bandwidth and outstanding overload margins. The X-10V3's circuit configuration is exactly the same as the Tri-Vista SACD's output stage, but updated with the incredible mu-vista tube. Put the X-10V3 with any good quality CD player (A3.2CD or X-RayV3 for examples) and be prepared to be astonished by the results. It turns any good CD player into something virtually indistinguishable from the Tri-Vista SACD.
